The first 934 Gallery pop-up at ZC Tea House in the Short North features the art and artists of Hollow Earth Tattoo. Hollow Earth is a private tattoo studio started by Nathan Marti and Rusty Dornhecker, two Columbus artists looking for a small, intimate studio that felt like a home rather than a business. “We want our clientele to feel comfortable, relaxed and at home while visiting and getting tattooed.” Both Nathan and Rusty focus on black and grey tattooing, each with a different focus and style. Nathan focuses on dark art imagery and explores the macabre aspects of art and life. His tattoos range from realistic to surrealistic. Rusty‘s style is black and grey realism, with strong focus on portraiture. He creates highly detailed, realistic tattoos ranging from portraits of famous people, family members, pet portraits and more. Joined by fellow Hollow Earth artisis Tony Becker, Toby Gehrlich, and Anna VanWalsen, this show features a wide variety of art styles and techniques.
