Altai Argali, an animal endemic to the mountain regions of western and south-western Mongolia. Argali are the largest species of wild sheep, with the heaviest horns. In the last 40 years the population of altai argali was reduced to less then half. They are considered threatened by the international, and endangered by the regional assessments.
Despite being a protected species, altai argali are coveted by trophy hunters due to their size and their majestic horns.
