Ollie is a stage actor who finds euphoria and centeredness through performance, so we came up with am idea: they would pick a monologue, and perform it instead of posing for me in the traditional sense. They chose Mercutio’s famous Queen Mab Speech, and performed it in the studio space. I did dozens of gesture drawings – each took above seven to ten seconds – to to try and capture the moment and remove clear sexual characteristics from the body and make the human androgynous. These are the top six drawings.
