Arlo identifies as agender. In their own words, “Gender is a party that I really don’t feel like attending.” I immediately pictured a monochromatic palette to exemplify this. Arlo’s conduit for gender euphoria is makeup, and so I decided to use pan pastel, which is an archival parallel to eye shadow, and conte crayon as an eyeliner pencil substitute.
“…Ultimately I don’t feel like a girl, just a soul in a body. Transness became one of my most proud parts of my identity and has changed my worldview and perspective immeasurably.”
